Mw 7.6 Michoacan, Mexico
updated 30 November 2022

On 19 September 2022 a major earthquake occurred in Michoacan, Mexico at a depth of 25 km. The seismic event occurred at 18:05:08 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.6. A few days later a strong aftershock occurred.

From 11 September to 3 October was considered a critical time-frame because of a long series of critical planetary geometry involving 19 conjunctions. The major earthquake on the 19th occurred after the Mercury-Earth-Jupiter conjunction on the 18th and two days after the lunar conjunction with Mars. It was possible to isolate Mexico as one of the critical regions based on an atmospheric signal.
