Mw 6.4 Off Coast of Aisen, Chile

On 15 July 2022 a strong earthquake occurred off the coast of Aisen, Chile at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 19:37:20 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.4.

Due to critical planetary geometry from 7 to 10 July there was a high probability of strong to major seismic activity from 9 to 14 July with a slight possibility of a great earthquake. The strongest seismic event occurred in the Easter Island Region on 12 July. For more details watch the warning video below.
