Mw 7.0 Mindanao, Philippines
updated 29 May 2022

On 29 December 2018 a major earthquake occurred in Mindanao, Philippines at a depth of 66 km. The seismic event occurred at 03:39:10 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.0.

The earthquake directly followed on the Mercury-Sun-Uranus alignment that was followed by a high lunar peak, which was caused in part by the Moon's alignment with Neptune and Mars on 27-28 December. In conclusion, Earth's alignment with Venus and Uranus and also with Mars and Neptune in the weeks before were highly instrumental in triggering major seismic activity from 30 November to 29 December, with a total of five earthquakes that reached magnitude 7. The influence of Venus and Uranus became apparent in October 2018 when Earth was closely aligned between them when three strong earthquakes occurred at Vancouver Island.
