updated 28 December 2021

On 22 October 2018 a strong earthquake occurred at Vancouver Island, Canada Region at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 06:16:28 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.8. A strong earthquake with magnitude 6.6 occurred in the region about half an hour earlier.

Later on the 19th Mercury and Mars made a 90° angle with Earth. On the 20th and 21st critical lunar geometry occurred, primarily with Uranus-Neptune, which were at 45°. Another contributing factor was probably Earth's close proximity to the Venus-Uranus line and the Moon made critical geometry to both planets on the 21st.
