Mw 6.9 Lombok Region, Indonesia
updated 30 August 2021

On 19 August 2018 a strong earthquake occurred in Lombok Region, Indonesia at a depth of 12 km. The seismic event occurred at 14:56:26 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.9. It was the second but much more shallow strong earthquake in the region in two weeks.

Days earlier the Sun-Venus-Saturn alignment occurred converging with a lunar peak and accompanied by additional (somewhat) critical planetary geometry. At the same time, Venus was closely aligned with Mars and Neptune, which became exact early on the 20th. A strong earthquake already occurred on the 15th and hours earlier a great earthquake occurred in the Fiji Region. Key planetary geometry regarding the earthquakes on the 19th was the Sun-Mercury-Neptune alignment on the 16th, followed by a high lunar peak on the 17th.
