On 22 June 2017 a strong earthquake occurred offshore Guatemala at a depth of 40 km. The seismic event occurred at 12:31:02 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.8.
Three planetary alignments involving Mercury preceded this second strong earthquake in Guatemala. The Mercury-Sun-Saturn alignment in particular can be critical and seismic activity could have reached magnitude 7. But there was an obvious magnitude 7 drought in the first half of 2017 (from 23 January to 16 July). The earthquake offshore Gutemala occurred after the third planetary alignment and close to the second lunar peak on the 22nd. Note that the Mercury-Earth-Saturn alignment on the 18th converged with a high lunar peak but that the seismic increase did not arrive until after the third alignment.
