Mw 8.6 Northern Sumatra, Indonesia

On 28 March 2005 a mega-thrust earthquake occurred at Northern Sumatra, Indonesia at a depth of 30 km. The seismic event occurred at 16:09:36 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 8.6.
The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is critical lunar geometry involving Mars and Saturn on 23-24 and 27-28 March 2005.
Although this seismic event comes months after the mega-thrust earthquake near the coast of northern Sumatra and was probably the result of stress changes due to that earlier event, the timing matches specific planetary and lunar geometry that is associated with large earthquakes.
On 22 March 2005 a Mercury-Sun-Uranus conjunction occurred, Mercury being a key factor by connecting to outer planets either in conjunction or right angle before the lunar geometry occurs that triggers the earthquake. A similar pattern is observed in 1957 and in 2012. The planetary conjunction on 22 March was followed by a lunar conjunction with Uranus on 23 March and a lunar conjunction with the Sun (Full Moon) on 25 March. On 25-26 March Mercury and Venus made a pair of semi-right angles with Neptune at the same time that lunar conjunctions occurred with both planets before and after the lunar conjunction with the Sun. In addition, right angle geometry with Mercury occurred on 26 March two times, most notably with the Sun and Mars, that converged with a lunar conjunction with Jupiter. Early on 27 and 28 March opposite lunar right angles occurred with Saturn and Mars, and as the earthquake occurred a lunar right angle was forming with Neptune.
