The SSGEOS records fluctuations of electric charge in the atmosphere near sea level. In relationship to Earth's axis-rotation these fluctuations point to regions where approximately stronger seismic activity can occur, usually within 1 to 9 days. These regions are marked with purple on the maps below. We emphasize that the indicated regions are approximations and that there is currently no reliable method to determine exact locations.
strong fluctuations - potential for strong to major seismic event.
moderate fluctuations - potential for strong seismic activity.
Very strong fluctuations - potential for major seismic activity.
Weak fluctuation - seismic activity can reach moderate seismic activity.
