Mw 7.4 Off East Coast of Kamchatka

On 20 July 2025 a major earthquake occurred off the east coast of Kamchatka at a depth of 25 km. The seismic event occurred at 06:49:03 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.4.

The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is a convergence of critical lunar geometry on 18-19 July 2025.

In July 2025 Earth moved between Mars on one side and Saturn-Neptune on the other side. This configuration caused critical lunar geometry, resulting in major earthquakes in July, August and September.

On 18-19 July opposing semi-right angle lunar geometry occurred with Mars (135°) and Saturn-Neptune (45°), accompanied by Venus (45°) and Jupiter (135°).

This lunar geometry converged with a planetary conjunction Mars:Mercury-Neptune on 18 July.

The major earthquake on 20 July 2025 was a foreshack of the great earthquake on 29 July.
