Mw 7.3 Alaska Peninsula

On 16 July 2025 a major earthquake occurred at Alaska Peninsula at a depth of 20 km. The seismic event occurred at 20:37:39 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.3.

The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is critical lunar geometry on 15-16 July 2025.

In July 2025 Earth moved between Mars on one side and Saturn-Neptune on the other side. This configuration caused critical lunar geometry, resulting in major earthquakes in July, August and September.

On 11-12 July opposing semi-right angle lunar geometry occurred with Mars and Saturn-Neptune, a day after Full Moon. Opposing lunar conjunctions with Mars, Saturn and Neptune occurred on 15-16 July, hours before the earthquake occurred.
