Mw 7.1 Banda Sea

On 8 November 2023 a major earthquake occurred at the Banda Sea at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 04:53:51 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.1.
The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is a convergence of planetary conjunctions and right angles from 3 to 6 November 2023.
On 3 and 4 November Earth was involved in 3 planetary conjunctions. The first conjunction occurred early on the 3rd when Earth moved between the Sun and Jupiter. Later on that day Earth moved between Venus and Neptune. Less than 24 hours later Earth also made a conjunction with Mercury and Uranus. On the 4th Venus made 2 right angles with Mars-Saturn and with Mercury-Neptune. Two more right angles with Mercury and Venus occurred on the 5th involving Earth and Neptune. Also on the 5th a lunar conjunction occurred with Saturn converging with a series of 4 lunar right angles on 5-6 November. In particular, the opposing lunar right angles with Mars and Uranus were critical. Earth moved between Mars and Uranus on 11 November and critical lunar geometry with these planets would again occur on 16-17 November.
A magnitude 6.9 earthquake in the region occurred a minute earlier. A strong aftershock occurred later on the day.
In total, 6 earthquakes ranging from magnitude 6.7 to 7.1 occurred from 8 to 24 November with the passing of Earth between Mars and Uranus, an average of 2.6 days. Average occurrence of magnitude 6.7 and larger earthquakes from 2020 to 2023 was 12.3 days.
