Mw 6.3 Offshore Maule, Chile

On 30 March 2023 a strong earthquake occurred offshore Maule, Chile at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 17:33:07 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.3.

The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is a near convergence of planetary conjunctions from 27 to 30 March 2023.

A convergence of two planetary conjunctions with Mercury occurred on 27-28 March. It was followed by Earth's conjunction with Venus and Uranus on 30 March at the time that the earthquake occurred. Strong earthquakes also occurred on 27 and 28 March within 12 hours.
