Mw 6.1 Gulf of California

On 4 November 2022 a strong earthquake occurred in the Gulf of California at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 10:02:49 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.1.

The earthquake followed on a clustering of strong tremors on 2 November that followed on a lunar peak and the planetary conjunction Venus-Sun-Uranus. The earthquake occurred at the rise of a high lunar peak on 4-5 November.
