Mw 6.0 Near Coast of Central Peru
updated 30 November 2022

On 28 October 2022 a strong earthquake occurred near the coast of Central Peru at a depth of 15 km. The seismic event occurred at 20:22:07 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.0.

Planetary geometry was critical from 22 to 29 October and resulted in strong seismic activity on the 25th. Additional larger seismic activity was anticipated. The strong tremor near the coast of Central Peru occurred at the rise of the lunar peak late on the 28th, after a Mercury-Sun-Jupiter conjunction a day earlier.
