On 23 August 2022 a strong earthquake occurred at Southern Sumatra, Indonesia at a depth of 57 km. The seismic event occurred at 14:31:42 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.2.
Critical planetary geometry occurred on 20-21 August involving two conjunctions, one of which involved Earth. Lunar geometry was relatively critical with index 12 throughout the week.
