Mw 6.9 Macquarie Island Region

On 19 May 2022 a strong earthquake occurred in the Macquarie Island Region at a depth of 15 km. The seismic event occurred at 10:13:32 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.9.

Planetary geometry was critical from 16 to 18 May. In particular the near convergence of the Sun-Venus-Mars and the Earth-Mars-Neptune conjunctions was likely to trigger strong to major seismic activity. See also the forecast video and Telegram posts below.
