Mw 6.0 Philippine Islands Region

On 5 May 2022 a strong earthquake occurred in the Philippine Islands Region at a depth of 21 km. The seismic event occurred at 08:21:16 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.0.

Critical planetary geometry converged on 4-5 May involving Mercury, Venus and outer planets, next to Earth's conjunction with the Sun and Uranus. The seismic event occurred just after a lunar peak (index 12) that occurred later on the 4th — early 5th.
