Mw 6.0 Mindanao, Philippines

On 20 April 2022 a strong earthquake occurred at Mindanao, Philippines at a depth of 26 km. The seismic event occurred at 21:57:43 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.0.

On the 18th the Earth-Mercury-Uranus conjunction occurred. As a result some seismic increase was anticipated from the 18th to the 20th, largely due to a lunar conjunction with Uranus hours before the planetary conjunction was exact. Two strong earthquakes occurred on the 19th and one on the 20th. A stronger earthquake occurred early on the 21st due to the Mercury-Sun-Mars conjunction on the 20th.
