On 19 April 2022 a strong earthquake occurred at Tonga at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 04:33:41 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.0.
On the 18th the Earth-Mercury-Uranus conjunction occurred. As a result some seismic increase was anticipated from the 18th to the 20th, largely due to a lunar conjunction with Uranus hours before the planetary conjunction was exact. Two strong earthquakes occurred on the 19th and one on the 20th. A stronger earthquake occurred early on the 21st due to the Mercury-Sun-Mars conjunction on the 20th.
