Mw 6.8 South of Fiji Islands
updated 30 November 2022

On 16 February 2022 a strong earthquake occurred South of Fiji Islands at a depth of 520 km. The seismic event occurred at 20:21:06 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.8. On the 15th a warning was issued that three planetary conjunctions on the 16th and 17th in combination with a Full Moon could cause larger seismic activity, potentially reaching magnitude 7. The earthquake occurred when the Earth-Venus-Mars conjunction was exact and Venus was almost in a conjunction with the Sun and Neptune. See also the Telegram post below.

It was the second strong earthquake after a Mw 6.2 tremor occurred earlier on the day in Guatemala.
