updated 30 November 2022

On 16 February 2022 a strong earthquake occurred in Guatemala at a depth of 100 km. The seismic event occurred at 07:12:26 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.2.

On the 15th a warning was issued that three planetary conjunctions on the 16th and 17th in combination with a Full Moon could cause larger seismic activity, potentially reaching magnitude 7. The earthquake, which was followed by a Mw 6.8 tremor later on the same day, occurred when the Earth-Venus-Mars conjunction was exact and Venus was almost in a conjunction with the Sun and Neptune.
