On 14 January 2022 a strong earthquake occurred in the Sunda Strait, Indonesia at a depth of 40 km. The seismic event occurred at 09:05:43 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.6.
The earthquake occurred after critical planetary geometry from 8 to 13 January, in particular the Mercury-Sun-Mars conjunction on the 13th. Lunar geometry was also critical peaking index 17 on January 10-11 and 14-15.
