Mw 6.1 Near Coast of Nicaragua

On 6 January 2022 a strong earthquake occurred neaar the coast of Nicaragua at a depth of 30 km. The seismic event occurred at 16:25:08 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.2.

The earthquake occurred due to some critical lunar geometry, most notably Earth-Moon-Jupiter earlier on the day.
