On 8 September 2021 a major earthquake occurred at Guerrero, Mexico at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 01:47:46 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.0.

The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is a convergence of lunar conjunctions with Mars and Neptune on 7 September 2021..

On 7 September opposite lunar conjunctions occurred with Mars and Neptune, as Earth aligned between the two planets 5 days earlier. Lunar semi-right angles with Mars and Neptune occurred on 4 September. In addition, two planetary right angles occurred on 7 September with the Sun involving Venus and Mars, and Mercury and Neptune respectively. Also on 7 September a lunar conjunction occurred with the Sun (New Moon).
