Mw 6.8 Eastern Turkey

On 24 January 2020 a strong earthquake occurred in eastern Turkey at a depth of 15 km. The seismic event occurred at 17:55:14 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.8.

From 17 to 20 January critical planetary geometry clustered which resulted in a cluster of strong seismic activity from 18 to 20 January. Additional larger seismic events occurred with the next lunar peaks on 23-24 January, including the earthquake in Eastern Turkey, which occurred after critical lunar conjunctions with Jupiter, Saturn and the Sun (New Moon).
