Mw 7.0 Southern Alaska

On 30 November 2018 a major earthquake occurred in Southern Alaska at a depth of 57 km. The seismic event occurred at 17:29:27 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.0.

A series of planetary alignments occurred from 25 November to 1 December with a highlight on 27 November when three alignments converged involving the Sun, Mercury, Earth and Jupiter. The earthquake occurred with the lunar peak that followed on the critical planetary geometry on the 27th, but also close to Earth's alignment with Venus and Uranus on 1 December.
