Mw 7.3 Offshore Sucre, Venezuela

On 21 August 2018 a major earthquake occurred offshore Sucre, Venezuela at a depth of 127 km. The seismic event occurred at 21:31:43 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.3.

Apart from the critical planetary and lunar geometry that preceded the earthquakes on the 19th, the Venus-Mars-Neptune alignment occurred on the 20th that converged with a lunar peak reaching index 12 on the 19th and into the 20th. An additional lunar peak occurred on the 20th and into the 21st reaching index 9, after which the earthquake offshore Sucre, Venezuela occurred.
