Mw 8.1 Offshore Chiapas, Mexico

On 8 September 2017 a great earthquake occurred at Chiapas, Mexico at a depth of 72 km. The seismic event occurred at 04:49:21 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 8.1.

A series of five planetary alignments from the 3rd to the 7th preceded the great earthquake, most notably Earth-Mercury-Mars, Venus-Sun-Saturn and Sun-Mercury-Uranus. Off the five alignments foour involved the Sun. On the 6th an X-class solar flare occurred. Lunar geometry peaked 14 on the 5th and 6th, before the Sun-Mercury-Uranus alignment. The earthquake occurred with the second lunar peak that reached 14 than 18 on the 8th and 9th.
