Mw 6.6 North of Ascension Island

On 18 August 2017 a strong earthquake occurred North of Ascension Island at a depth of 30 km. The seismic event occurred at 02:59:25 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.6.

Some critical planetary geometry occurred precededing the lunar peak that reached 9 on the 16th, most notably a convergence of planetary geometry on the 13th. The earthquake occurred following this lunar peak.
