Mw 6.7 Off the Coast of Northern California

On 8 December 2016 a strong earthquake occurred off the Coast of Northern California at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 14:49:46 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.7.

December 2016 — starting on the 6th — was considered very critical due to an unusual number of planetary alignments. From the 6th to the 30th fifteen alignments occurred, which is an average of one alignment per less than two days.

The first seismic increase — the strong earthquake off the coast of Northern California — occurred within two days of the first alignment, Venus-Sun-Jupiter, on the 6th, followed by the critical Sun-Mercury-Neptune alignment on the 7th and Mars-Mercury-Jupiter on the 8th. Lunar geometry peaked 12 following the first alignment. A second, major earthquake occurred only a few hours later at the Solomon Islands, followed by a strong aftershock on the 9th.
