On 25 November 2016 a strong earthquake occurred in Southern Xinjiang, China at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 14:24:30 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.6.
Two planetary alignments on 22 and 23 November preceded the earthquake, most notably Mercury-Venus-Uranus. Following these two alignments, lunar geometry became critical on the 24th, which resulated in a major earthquake off the coast of Central-America. Lunar geometry then peaked 15 on the 25th, after which the earthquake in Southern Xinjiang occurred.
