Mw 7.1 Southeast Indian Ridge

On 4 December 2015 a major earthquake occurred at Southeast Indian Ridge at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 22:24:53 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.1.
The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is a convergence of critical lunar geometry on 2 December 2015.
On 2 December a lunar conjunction with Neptune converged with semi-right angle lunar geometry involving Mars and Uranus, as Earth was positioned closely between these two planets (planetary conjunctions with these planets occurred on 6 December). The earthquake occurred about 18 hours after a lunar conjunction with Jupiter.
