Mw 6.8 Near West Coast of Honshu, Japan

On 23 October 2004 a strong earthquake occurred near the West Coast of Honshu, Japan at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 08:55:59 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.8.

On 19 October Venus aligned with the Sun and Saturn after which the Moon aligned with Saturn a day later. The Moon subsequently algned with Neptune and Uranus on 21 and 23 October.
