Mw 6.7 Taiwan Region

On 15 October 2004 a strong earthquake occurred in the Taiwan region at a depth of 90 km. The seismic event occurred at 04:08:49 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.7.

The strong earthquake was triggered primarily by lunar geometry that peaked on 12-13 October (index 14) due to the Moon's alignment with Jupiter and Mars.
