Mw 7.7 Aisen, Chile
updated 11 November 2022

On 6 June 1960 a major earthquake occurred at Aisen, Chile at a depth of 15 km. The seismic event occurred at 05:05:48 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.7.

On 31 May a convergence of the planetary conjunction Sun-Mercury-Uranus and the planetary right angle Venus:Mars-Neptune resulted in a clustering of strong seismic events on 1-2 June. Three additional planetary conjunctions occurred from 3 to 5 June whereby the critical planetary conjunction Venus-Mercury-Neptune (compare 2018, 2019)converged with the heliocentric right angle Sun-Mercury-Earth and the lunar conjunction Moon-Earth-Mars. A strong earthquake (Mw 6.0) occurred early on 6 June near the coast of Northern California, followed by the major earthquake at Aisen, Chile a few hours later.
