On 11 June 1585 a mega-thrust earthquake occurred at the (eastern) Aleutian Islands, Alaska. Based on tsunami records, both written (Japan) and from sand deposits (Hawaii) it may have had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) of up to 9.3. Going by the Japanese tsunami record and the planetary geometry at the time, the earthquake probably occurred between 10 June 22:00 and 11 June 8:00 UTC.

The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is Earth's conjunction with Mars and Uranus on 6 June 1585 that resulted in critical lunar geometry on 7-8 June and 10-11 June.

A critical planetary conjunction occurred on 6 June with Earth between Mars and Uranus, that resulted in critical lunar geometry i.e. semi-right angles with both planets on 7-8 June within about one hour. On 4 June lunar conjunctions with these planets already occurred within two hours. On 9 and 10 June planetary right angles of Mercury and Venus occurred, Venus with Mercury and Mars being the most critical one. Hours later a lunar conjunction occurred with Jupiter, followed by the planetary conjunction Venus-Sun-Jupiter, around the time that the earthquake occurred.
