Ms 7.0 Turkey-Syria border region

Between 20 and 29 May 526 a major earthquake occurred in the Turkey-Syria border region. The seismic event occurred mid morning and had an estimated surface wave magnitude (Ms) 7.0.

The estimated primary trigger of this seismic event is critical lunar geometry with Mars and Neptune following the Mars-Earth-Neptune conjunction on 18 May 526.

On 18 May 526 two planetary conjunction converged, one of which was Mars-Earth-Neptune. Around the time of this planetary geometry, critical lunar geometry occurred with both outer planets. On 15 May lunar semi-right angles with Mars and Neptune occurred in little more than 2 hours. On 18 May lunar conjunctions with Mars and Neptune converged within one hour, effectively forming a near planetary/lunar quadruple conjunction. On 22 May again lunar semi-right angles with the outer planets occurred. Finally, on 26 May lunar right angles occurred. Based on this planetary and lunar geometry proposed dates for the earthquake are 24, 25, 27 or 28 May 526.
